Inside Chanel - The Lion

The lion is majestic.
One can admire it, fear it, chase it, conquer it.
Gabrielle Chanel decides to tame it.
The lion is "Koko", born August 5th under the fifth sign of the zodiac.
The two numbers would become her good luck charm,
the lion would be her constellation.
The lion is a personality -
audacious, instinctive, passionate, radiant.
"I'm a Leo and, like him,
I show my claws to protect myself." Mademoiselle declared,
"... but believe me I suffer more by clawing than being clawed," she added.
The lion is an emblem.
All her life Gabrielle Chanel kept a small statue of the "King of Animals"
beside her cigarettes and her scissors,
and engraved it upon the buttons of her tweed suits.
The lion is an inspiration.
A favourite subject of CHANEL jewelry,
it roars from necklaces, pendants and brooches
as if to protect the secrets of Mademoiselle
and watch over her for all eternity.

The lion is the spirit of CHANEL.
And is eventually the spirit of Nariko Okawa.

View the actual video here:

And so this will be my emblem to represent the Leo I am, in Secondlife.

Nariko Okawa is born August 5th, 2006 in Secondlife.

ITEM OF THE WEEK 3 - TAIL

Announcing the IOTW for Week 3 - TAIL!

ITEM OF THE WEEK 3 - TAIL

IOTW - "Item Of The Week" allows you to be engaged in creative styling. Headed by Silly Avro, we realised that most model castings or competitions now are often characterised by styling backwards - what does it mean? A theme is given and models are required to style to that exact theme - the end styled theme always looks the same. If they ask for Avant Garde, models hunt down avant garde items. If the theme is Romantic Weddings, I can bet you will see gowns and gowns of white fluffy things down the runway.

IOTW is going to break that tradition.

IOTW randomly names an item for the week, and allows everyone on the grid to style anything around the main item, anyway you want. It opens up your creative process and makes you think how you will want to use that particular item.

For Week Three, the item is TAIL

Style a look with a tail (or more!) in the stylecard, any look you want. Style a look that you find fun, engaging and inspiring. There is no limitations to what you can create. The only limit is where your creativity will bring you. Take a picture, and simply post it into our Flickr Group : http://www.flickr.com/groups/iotw . You can style as many looks as you like, or even skip a week or two. No prizes. No regulations. No judges. Just created for your own pure styling fun, and come on, who doesn't want to dig out that tail that you had got from a gacha 5 months ago and create a whole new look with it, right? Designers, if you like, you can also create outfits and items surrounding our IOTW item as well~ Or even give them out as your month's or week's group gift. So that customers can walk in to your store to style a whole look with it.

1. Join the IOTW Flickr Group here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/iotw

2. Rename your photograph title as : "IOTW - [item] - [name]"

3. You may include a description of your styling process, link it to your own blog for your stylecard, or simply provide a quote or something. Hell, even make a video of it if you like. We want to inspire you to style the most outrageous looks.

4. You are done!

Vive Nine Fiore Mesh Heads Demo

It has been a long time since I am willing to create a full shoot for a demo piece (and since I am not in the Vive Nine blogger group anymore), but that is not going to stop me from introducing a good product for all my avid blogger fans.

Vive Nine Fiore is a skin brand developed under the Vive Nine family tree and they had just released an array of mesh heads that is AH-MA-ZING! The textures and the make-up were good to zoom into with the finest details. "She" even comes with her own mesh eyes and mesh lashes (excluded here). However, the mesh heads do not animate, but hey, doesn't discount from the good quality mesh heads that they put out at Cosmetic Fair Jan 2014!

Featured here is Natasha in SPF15, I don't know if the SPF15 Fiore Slink, Phat Azz and Lola appliers work but those are definitely available at the Vive Nine store - I checked!

Go and take a look if you want to see how the future of mesh heads will entail.

EDIT:

This is Natasha in SPF20 with a Smirk smile - totally love that smile. Ok, the appliers all comes in the pack when you get them. Including the mesh eyes in 4 colours (not included here, I decided to use my own mesh eyes) and a pair of lashes in 6(?) different lengths (didn't include them as well so you all can see Natasha's face).

Well, go and take a look at Cosmetic Fair. I am sure you will fall in love with them as much as how I fell totally in love......................

SCALA™

SCALA™ Models Academy Presentation Day

SCALA™ Models Academy will be hosting a Presentation Day on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 1pm SLT and again at 5pm SLT to answer questions of those interested in furthering their modeling skills via training.

Second Life® – Seashell Dench and Kryptonia Paperdoll are announcing the creation of SCALA™ Models and SCALA™ Models Academy.

Dench and Paperdoll describe SCALA as a new beginning, bringing the best of two worlds together…a merging of their past experience with the creation of a new vision of Second Life’s modeling’s future.  They both have been active in the SL fashion community for well over seven years.  They have trained SL models for a large portion of that time, Paperdoll being one of the most tenured runway instructors on the grid.

“SCALA means the filling of a void for all SL models,” remarked Dench, “by providing a quality agency and academy headed by an experienced and reputable staff.  A staff that is trustworthy and reliable, a staff that will properly represent and monetarily compensate the models who become a part of the SCALA family.”

SCALA management is composed of residents that are no strangers to the SL fashion scene, who bring their experience and know how to this new venture that is the future of SL modeling.  SCALA plans on advancing SL modeling by providing the support and training to models to successfully market themselves as a brand.

SCALA strives to be fashion forward and on the cutting edge to always stay ahead of,  not only fashion trends,  but also the inworld modeling scene – that is changing at a very fast pace.

SCALA Models is presently inviting models to join the agency and will soon be holding a public casting.  Any interested residents should join the SCALA-SL group (listed below) to keep abreast of the latest information for both divisions of SCALA. The location of Presentation Day will be disclosed via the SCALA-SL group.

HAPPY WEDDING DAY FAIZAH

HAPPY WEDDING DAY FAIZAH!

I always remember Faizah being the colleague banished near the office pantry sink (albeit having a small stash of pantry goodies hidden in her own cupboard). Thank you for moving to being my neighbour and allowing this wonderful friendship to blossom; for accepting me with all my flaws and all my eccentric antics coupled with angst, weird sense of humour and dirty jokes. I will always reminisce the days during which we squealed at any new bags bought within our 5m radius - from the Loewe Arizona to my Balenciaga, never failing to pick them up close to our nose to sniff the aroma of fresh leather, touching them softly as we admire their leather creases. I will never forget stacking up tonnes and tonnes to titbits to tide us through long working hours and boring as hell meetings. Oh, how can we not talk about our 'netball thigh exercises' to tone up our flabby thighs from sitting at our workstations for hours on end, whilst eating chocolates, biscuits and other yummy goodies. Thank you for always being around when everyone else does not understand my point of view (of course, now I know my POV is somewhat difficult to swallow, but hey, the truth is the truth, regardless of how hard they are to swallow). Always, till the day I signed my resignation, thank you!!!!!!

And today, it is your wedding day. I can only wish that it will forever be blessed with many wonderful happenings (lest singing and dancing!) that will come with it. The holy communion of two kindled souls is, in 6 hours' time, going to witness the vow of marriage. I am honoured to be able to accompany you through this journey as you walk down the aisle into your new reborn life. You are finally going to be someone's wife! (Hopefully a mum soon too!) So, please kick you habit of hoarding (cue 1524 ping-pong balls in a box under her desk kept without her touching them for maybe.......... say 2 years?). But who am I to tell you that when I am a hoarder myself!

No one said married life is going to be easy, damn, they don't even teach us that in schools! But at least when you hit a wall, Sue, Rai and myself will always be around close-by to push your head into the wall until it bleeds and hopefully, a ray of light will appear. We will share your joy and laughs, your woes and tears. So, with an army of friends behind you, you have nothing to worry - well, except for a bulging tummy - that one, Marie France Bodyline may be your lifebuoy.

Happy Wedding Day Faizah!

With lots of love and pretty bags and ferragamo shoes.............................

Item Of The Week One

ITEM OF THE WEEK 1 - HELMET

IOTW - "Item Of The Week" allows you to be engaged in creative styling. Headed by Silly Avro, we realised that most model castings or competitions now are often characterised by styling backwards - what does it mean? Style a look with a helmet in the stylecard, any look you want. For me, I chose to be a biker with a motorcyclist helmet. You can choose to use an eygptian or a warrior helmet or even a construction worker helmet if you want and style a look that you find fun, engaging and inspiring. There is no limitations to what you can create. The only limit is where your creativity will bring you. Take a picture, and simply post it into our Flickr Group : http://www.flickr.com/groups/iotw .
